Some pictures of a trip to Lima :
This is the cathedral of Lima, on the main square, the Plaza de Armas
It holds Pizarro's tomb
This is the presidential palace (Yes, those fingers are mine. I didn't see it then and I''m not going back just to take a new picture)
This is another nice building on the Plaza de Armas
Not too far away is the San Francisco monastery
It was built using a special kind of plaster mixture, which is earthquake resistant. However, the walls do tend to bend a bit.
The convent's court yard
The meeting room of the monks
Skulls nicely separated from the bones in the catacombs
It is also home to the catacombs, housing the remains of some 35000 people
A little artistic folly with skulls and bones
The bullfighting seems a bit unorthodox though
The local bullring is seen here
This is a view of Lima from the Cerro San Cristobal, a hill nearby. Notice the garua, the fog hanging over Lima most of the year.
This is another view of Lima. (I always wanted to know what that sephia mode on my camera was, hence the colors)
Damn monkey is everywhere
Miraflores is a fancy area of Lima, on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific
The whole coast line has cliffs
There was a parasailing event going on
They literally just step off the cliffs and they're off
This is another rendition of the Nasca monkey
